Psychobilly

Friday night U of Utah (hereby referred to as "the U") put on a festival of fun, at which played the rock and roll band Tiger Army. I'd never heard them before, but my pal Jason heartily -- some might say incessantly -- recommended them. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed their blend of punk and rockabilly. I've even gone so far as to make a name for it -- "psychobilly" -- which I'm sure will catch on soon.

One thing you might notice about Tiger Army if you possess eyeballs is their bassist, who plays an upright bass. I find this pretty fucking boss. Also, with sunglasses on and their particular haircuts at the time, both the guitarist and bassist looked exactly like Joe Strummer.

I'm not a huge guy, so I sometimes risk life and limb entering "the pit," but I swear there were some kids about half my height around. Bizarre. Anyway, I emerged having only been socked a few times, threw up the horns, howled into the night, and rock was alive and well.
