My Favorite Portrayal of Nixon
NSFW, unless you have headphones.
Philip Baker Hall played Richard Nixon in this film, Secret Honor, directed in 1984 by Robert Altman. In the 80s, Altman was "exiled" from the Hollywood mainstream and made a lot of films on video. This particular film was shot at the University of Michigan, and was crewed by film students there.
The whole thing is set in one room (it's based on a play, I believe) and displays Nixon in his last days as president, wildly rambling, drinking, contemplating suicide. It's a great performance by Hall, and I do really recommend it. Here is a nice essay from the DVD by Michael Wilmington.
